PayPilot is a portfolio project by Ivan S that also works as a real product. The software is source-available, not open source. It is published and, where paid, delivered and operated by Streamflow Solutions ("we", "us"). These terms cover the free demo at paypilot.fly.dev, the published source, and any paid recovery engagement.
The source is published under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, copyright Ivan S. You may read, run, fork, modify and share it for any noncommercial purpose: evaluation, study, teaching, research, personal projects, and assessing the author's work for hiring. Attribution travels with any copy you pass on.
Commercial use requires a separate commercial licence. Commercial use includes running PayPilot to recover payments for your own business or a client's, hosting it for someone else, and offering it as part of any paid product or service. Using the free demo, reading the source, or holding a copy of the repository does not grant that licence, and neither does a paid engagement unless the engagement agreement says so in writing.
Two routes to commercial use: take a licence and run it yourself, or take a paid engagement and have it run for you (section 4). For either, book a call. If the licence terms and these terms differ on the software itself, the licence prevails.
The public demo is provided free of charge and "as is", with no warranty of any kind. It runs on sample data (or, in live mode, on inputs you supply) and is for illustration only. Its diagnoses, retry strategies, recovery estimates and drafted messages are generated with AI assistance, are labelled as such, and are not financial, legal or accounting advice. They must not be relied on for real billing decisions without your own review. Access to the demo is for evaluation only and is not a commercial licence under section 2. We may change or withdraw the demo at any time.
Running PayPilot against your live billing is a paid engagement priced on a performance basis - a share of the revenue it recovers, agreed with you in advance (see Pricing). The specific scope, rate, data handling and responsibilities of each engagement are set out in a separate written agreement between you and Streamflow Solutions, which prevails over these terms where they differ.
The demo does not require an account or an API key. Any event data you send to the API is processed only to produce a recovery result for that request and is not sold or shared. In a paid engagement, the handling of your billing and customer data (including any processing of personal data on your behalf) is governed by the engagement agreement and applicable data-protection law.
The free demo is provided without warranty and without any assurance of recovery outcomes. For paid engagements, the parties' liabilities are set out in the separate engagement agreement rather than limited here. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
